Routine
maintenance is required to keep your office furniture looking as good as it does
the day Office Furniture NOW! delivered it to you. We urge you to maximize your
investment by following these maintenance recommendations.
Wood and Wood Veneer Products
- Use
a water dampened soft cloth moving in the same direction as the wood grain.
- Immediately
remove liquids from the surface using a blotting action.
- Lift
and move objects, do not slide them across the surface.
- Avoid
exposure to harsh solvents. Do not use furniture polish.
- Avoid
exposure to long periods of direct sunlight – the wood may change color.
Laminate and Synthetic Surfaces
- Clean
with a mild soap solution.
- Wipe
the entire surface, moving with
the
grain, followed by a clean dry
soft
cloth.
- Avoid
sliding objects across the surface.
Fine Leathers and Vinyl
- Dust
leather with a dry cloth monthly.
- Wipe
up spills immediately.
- For
stains, wipe immediately with a clean dry cloth. If necessary, apply warm
water and let dry. For persistent stains, use a mild soap (such as Ivory) with
a warm damp cloth.
- Do
not use commercial cleaners, saddle soap, ammonia, vegetable oil, furniture
polish, cleaning fluids or detergents to clean leather.
- For
vinyl, wipe with a damp cloth.
Cloth Surfaces
- For
soil accumulation over time, vacuum thoroughly.
- Use
a foam cleaner if needed, making sure to remove any residual detergent.
- For
stains:
- Chocolate
or coffee – sponge with lukewarm water.
- Chewing
gum – remove surface gum with a dull knife.
- Fruits
or berry stains – treat with cold distilled water.
- Ink
or ballpoint pen – use denatured alcohol.
- Water-based
stains can also be treated using a water and ammonia-based
solution
(such as Ajax Liquid )and a damp cloth.
- Oil-based
stains can also be treated using a mild, pure water-free dry
cleaning
solvent.
